WE ARE GROWING !!!
Amanda Brinkerhoff, MS, LCPC, NCC, CADC, GCE
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor & Military Veteran
“Healing Trauma, Building Strength”
Hi, I’m Amanda "Mandy". I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and military veteran with over 16 years of experience supporting individuals and families in their journeys toward healing and hope. I hold dual master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University—one in Clinical Counseling and another in Family & Consumer Science. I’m nationally certified as an NCC (National Certified Counselor). I hold a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) and a GCE (Gender Competency Endorsement) through the state of Illinois. I’m also EMDR-trained and a member of EMDRIA, offering specialized support in trauma-focused care.
I’m an active member of the Illinois Counseling Association (ICA) and the Illinois Mental
Health Counselors Association (IMHCA), staying connected to the latest clinical standards and
advocacy efforts within the profession.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with preteens, teens, adults, and older
adults. My experience includes supporting clients through trauma, addiction and recovery, grief,
end-of-life issues, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and client-centered. I believe healing is possible
at every stage of life, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where you feel
heard, understood, and empowered. Whether you’re working through past trauma, struggling
with addiction, or exploring aspects of your identity, I’m here to walk alongside you—helping
you reconnect with your strength, build resilience, and take steps toward the life you deserve.

Time’s Up Day is on September 17 and it’s all about being the bigger person. It is easy to drift apart from people over a little disagreement, especially people you enjoy having in your life. It usually starts small, a little disagreement turns into resentment and both parties are left with nothing to say to each other. If you know you’ve been waiting to make up with someone close to you, this is a reminder that it’s time to make amends.
How to Observe Time's Up Day
1️⃣Look beyond the incident and reach out
. Give them an opportunity to apologize and give yourself the joy of closure.
2️⃣Encourage people who are feuding to make up
To celebrate this day, encourage people to tell each other how they feel, but do not force them to reconcile if they are not ready.
3️⃣Show appreciation to the people in your life
Use this day to appreciate the people in your life by telling them how much you value their presence in your life.
